COLUMBUS, OHIO (June 2, 2010) – In celebration of Outlook Media’s fifteenth anniversary and the Columbus Pride Festival during the weekend of June 18-20, outlook:columbus has published its largest issue to date. This issue is the official guide to the 2010 Pride holiday.
The magazine includes 112 pages of over sixty-five articles and commentaries informing readers about the local events encompassing the Pride holiday. Also included are their official endorsements of the 2010 elections, representation of more than 150 local, regional, and national companies seeking to capture the lucrative GLBT niche market, and outlook’s usual mix of edgy commentary and insightful editorial content. Interviews include Rita Soronen of the Dave Thomas Foundation For Adoption, Tom Grote and Rick Neal, grand marshals of the 2010 Pride Parade, and proclamations from Columbus City Council and Mayor Michael B. Coleman.
“It is amazing to be in a city such as Columbus that has supported outlook and the GLBT community for years,” said Michael Daniels, co-publisher. “We are proud to be standard bearers for our community’s collective voice that only gets stronger, especially in a market which has seen both GLBT and mainstream magazines fall due to economic circumstances.”“We are blessed to be able to survive in a time where print marketing has collapsed on itself,” said Christopher Hayes, co-publisher. “Surviving fifteen years is not only a testament to acceptance within our community socially, but also recognition of the GLBT community as a viable market.”
Despite the magazine being the largest issue ever, outlook will not sacrifice quality. Into the future, Christopher sees that outlook will remain “a 96-page boutique magazine offering our premium product and premium value. We aren’t interested in adding pages as much as we are showcasing loyal advertisers.”
